Have you ever wondered what really is the difference between an OTR vs OTA? What are the differences in responsibilities between an occupational therapist and an occupational therapy assistant? How can we work on this OT/OTA collaboration to create successful partnerships?
Melissa Tilton OTA, BS, ROH (and AOTA Board Member) talks about her passion for being an OTA and discusses how this is not OT vs OTA and how this relationship actually helps our patients thrive!

Hi! Awesome podcast and very enlightening.. I have question though, i’m a newly certified COTA and not currently employed. Do you suggest i get additional certifications while I still look for a job? If so, what do you suggest since I am just starting my OT career. Thanks Mandy and Melissa! More power to you both.
Thanks John!
This on OTR/OTA certifications might be helpful as well! https://seniorsflourish.com/occupationaltherapyspecialties/ It honestly depends on the setting in which what certification would be most helpful, BUT some general certifications that I found really helpful include PAMS and kinesiotaping.
